What are fasteners?

Fasteners refer to mechanical parts used for fastening connections, and are also known as standard parts in the market. Its variety, performance and use are different, but the degree of standardization, serialization and generalization is extremely high. Common fasteners mainly include the following 12 categories:

Bolt: consists of a head and a screw (a cylinder with external threads), which need to be matched with the nut for fastening and connecting two parts with through holes.

● Stud: A fastener without a head, both ends are externally threaded, - one end is screwed into a part with an internal threaded hole, and the other end passes through a part with a through hole and screws the nut.

● Screw: is also composed of two parts of the head and screw, according to the use can be divided into machine screws, set screws and special purpose screws.

Nuts: fasteners with internal threads, usually used with bolts or screws.

● Self-tapping screw: the thread on the screw is a special self-tapping screw thread, which can be directly screwed into the hole of the component for fastening and connecting two thin metal components.

● Wood screw: the thread on the screw is a special wood screw thread, which can be directly screwed into the wooden component to ensure the tight connection between metal (or non-metal) parts and wooden components.

● Washer: flat ring fasteners, dirt bolts, screws or nuts between the support surface and the surface of the connecting part, increase the contact area and reduce the unit area pressure.

● Stop ring: installed in the shaft slot or shaft hole slot of the machine and equipment to prevent the parts on the shaft or hole from moving left and right.

● Pin: mainly used for parts positioning, sometimes also used for parts connection, fixing or transfer power.

● Rivet: composed of two parts of the head and the nail rod, used to fasten the connection of two parts with holes, after the connection can not be removed.

Assemblies and connection pairs: products supplied in combination with specific fasteners, such as combinations of bolts, nuts and washers.

● Welding nail: composed of a nail rod and a nail head (or no nail head), fixed on the part by welding method, so that it can be connected with other parts.
